NIA (Neuro-Muscular Integrative Action)
Fitness Through Expressive Movement
This class incorporates movements from Dance Arts (Modern, Jazz, Duncan Dance,) Healing Arts (Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexandar) and Martial Arts (Tai-Chi, Akido, Tai-Kwan-Do) into a one hour class that will increase Strength, Balance, Agility, Mobility and Stability.
There is an aerobic component that can be done at the participant's fitness level.
Pleasure and Fun are the operative concepts. The class is set to music from all genres.
Classes meet Saturdays 10:30-11:30
Classes are barefoot or bring clean sneakers

You will have to walk up 2 flights of stairs, one outside and one inside. If you need additional accessibility information please

You must register for each class you can attend, due to small class size.
Wear comfortable clothing for movement: sweats, dance wear, loose clothing. Nia is usually done barefoot, but clean sneakers may be worn. Bring water to stay hydrated.
