This talk, by GNPS member Stewart Pravda, is for anyone interested in reducing their carbon footprint (aka Greenhouse Gas) to help slow climate change. If you get an electric bill from Con Ed, you can choose a Green Energy provider to supply the electricity. This is simply a billing change and no work is required in your dwelling. Stewart will show you tools to help you select a provider and discuss the challenges in sorting the various options. He will not recommend any particular provider, but will help you know how to make the choice. Stewart Pravda has been volunteering on environmental issues for 50 years. He has worked on campaigns to stop acid rain, protect endangered species and preserve habitats. In 2015 he trained under the Climate Reality Project that Vice President Gore established to become a climate leader. He is concerned that it is easy to feel that an individual cannot impact environmental problems. He believes that if people see that they can reduce their carbon footprint, they can develop a sense of empowerment and recognize that they can be part of the solution. This event is open to the public, but we ask that everyone register to receive the zoom information and if we need to reschedule.
