The instructor for this class is Dan La Botz (he uses Daniel in Spanish), member of Good Neighbors and a retired history professor who holds a Ph.D. in history and has written extensively about Mexico. He is not a native speaker, but is a fluent speaker who has read widely in Spanish history and literature and who has taught the Spanish language in the past.

Students should be at least at beginner's conversational level. That is, able to speak and understand a little Spanish.
