Hi everyone, we write to share the latest “News from Nablus” from the Palestinian House of Friendship (PHF), and to let you know that our next zoom call with Mohammed and Majed Sawalha, directors of PHF, will be on Sunday, February 22, 2026, 4-5pm EDT.
We have so much grief, rage and horror about so much of what the federal government is doing in the US and beyond. At the same time, Israel continues its murderous campaign against Gazans (what ceasefire?) and continues making life as miserable as possible for Palestinians on the West Bank (see the newsletter below for details).
And, PHF perseveres, keeping hope alive in its community and beyond, delivering Boxes of Love, boxes of necessities including food and blankets and children’s learning materials, hosting medical students studying at the World Café, doing arts and crafts as is possible with young children, allowing teenagers to express themselves in the music studio, and more.
We take inspiration from them in these dark times.
