NY Connects Brooklyn
NY Connects Brooklyn is a free service provided through the Department for the Aging. We provide unbiased information, benefits counseling, referrals to providers, and connections to community programs to assist older adults with accessing long-term care services. Find out about the Department for the Aging programs, caregiver services, long-term care planning, and more! Our goal is to empower Brooklyn residents to maintain fulfilling and independent lives in the community. This presentation will give an overview on how to access NY Connects and the range of information and assistance the program provides.
The presentation will be led by Johanna Miller (LMSW), the Outreach Social Worker with NY Connects since September 2025. She holds an LMSW from Fordham University. In addition to working with older adults, she has a background in mental health, immigrant justice, and tenant advocacy. Before becoming a Social Worker she worked as a museum educator for over a decade.
This event is free and open to the public, but please register.
