Dear Good Neighbors of Park Slope members:
We are looking for new Board members. GNPS has elections once a year, in October, and four positions on our twelve-person Board will be open.
We are interested in members who:
- Have been active in GNPS during the past two years
- Have ideas they’d like to implement about new possibilities for GNPS that we have not yet explored.
We are looking for at least one person who has confidence in their computer skills and can assist our webmaster.
We do not ask Board members to raise funds or supervise staff. We are self-supporting through membership dues and do not have paid staff. Board members can devote all their attention to advancing the interests of the members and advocating for older people in New York City.
The Board meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and regular attendance is expected. This year the meetings have been on Zoom, and we expect this will continue for the foreseeable future. Board members work on various committees, lead activities, and help run public meetings.
The deadline to apply is June 30th. Our nominating committee will review the responses and set up Zoom interviews in July and August. Short biographies and photos of the candidates will be sent to all members in early September, and the election will take place at the Annual Meeting in late October.
