Reading Partners has a place for you!
Just one hour a week can make a difference in a child's literacy success.
Commit to weekly tutoring sessions online or in-person.


Reading is the foundation for learning and success in life. Yet, only 34% of NY 4th-graders are reading at grade level, and it's even worse for economically disadvantaged students.
Reading Partners is looking for 1300 volunteer tutors to make a difference in our community in the 2024-2025 school year.
Give as little as one hour per week to tutor an elementary student, one-on-one for a semester.
Tutoring takes place Monday-Thursday 8:00am-3:00pm and can be done in person or virtually. No experience is required as we provide an easy-to-follow digital curriculum that includes all of the books, worksheets, and step-by-step lesson plans to teach fun, effective lessons.
We also provide step by step instructions on how to use the technology required and offer 1-1 practice sessions with members of our team to ensure your comfortability before beginning tutoring. Want to learn more?
